What is the movie where a guy is under surveilance but sneaks away for a rendez-vous at a ferry (at night) he goes in the front door of a little deco ticket building, and then runs up a ramp to make the boat, while his pursuer takes the elevator (or vice versa) all with very slick angles and lighting.

shareAs the previous poster mentioned you probably don't care anymore, but it could also be I Confess (1953). I don't remember an elevator, but it is a film-noir type movie with a ferry rendez-vous.
