The first time I got a glimpse of MM's otherworldy appeal....

I was in my teens when I first watched part of Niagara. The part I caught of the film was when she came out of her motel room (in that dress) and sang that song those kids were playing on the record player. I'm sorry.....but if that scene doesn't make you fall hard for Ms. Monroe......

I later watched my second MM film (Some Like it Hot)....and it only reaffirmed what I had come to know: Marilyn Monroe was a goddess. Hard to put into words what she had....but she had it, like no other.

One of the few benefits of the pandemic is watching the classics. I had never seen a Marilyn Monroe film til about a year ago and it was Niagara. You are right. She has a unique appeal. I then watched Some Like it Hot, which I enjoyed even more. Then I watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and I think she was at her very best, most appealing here. I also watched The Seven Year Itch and, again, she was incredibly beautiful and likeable but the film overall didn't work so much for me. So I finally got why she is such an icon.

I LIKE HER...BUT SHE LOOKS LIKE A CHUBBY FARMER'S WIFE AFTER A 90210 MAKEOVER...I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE APPEAL.
