-How did the police know that Loomis had a scar on his head? The guy at the boat dock said he recognized him from that description.
Loomis was supposedly killed at Niagara Falls, he must have read the story in the papers and recognized his photo. Although I'm not sure how he went from killed to "missing" so fast. When Rose was found dead the police was sure Polly Cutler was right, but that was just the same morning...
-How did Loomis know to request the right music at the chapel bells?
Wasn't that the music she loved so much? The record he broke at the beginning? He must have known the name.
-How did Loomis get out of Cabin B when he came back and surprised Polly?
Through the back door I guess, that's how he came in.
My question is why didn't Loomis just knock in the glass door during the night after killing her? In stead of waiting for the janitor. That didn't exactly improve his chances of escaping.
But this is just a movie to showcase Marilyn Monroe. Although I prefered watching Jean Peters... ("More profile! No honey, *profile*!")
Yes, plot holes galore. Especially in the time range. What day was what? Makes no sense to an otherwise classic film mystery. I had read that Zanack (the head of Fox Studios) didn't like film to run longer than 90 minutes if possible, so he sliced the movie to hit the 89 minute mark. What a shame as there WERE many cuts, some involving Marilyn herself. She remarked some of her best scenes were cut. Tis' a pity, because I would have loved to have seen more footage of her. If you think about it, she didn't have much time on film. Does anyone know exactly what was cut?
Sounds like a great excuse to release a special edition DVD with all that missing footage. There is a huge Marilyn fan base out there to this day. Lots of money to be made. Anyone at FOX reading this? lol I can't believe they haven't officially released the footage from Somethings Got To Give.
It´s not that easy most of the time cut scenes are lost forever. They didn´t always take care of the cut scenes and preserved them, and if they did they´re probably of very bad quality from storing and no preserving.
The movie never explained why Loomis took a knife from a Cabin B's kitchen drawer. Nope, he didn't use it to make the boat's engine to turn over. I never found out the reason for the knive.
He was going to kill his wife with it but he didn't know that the Cutler's had already been moved to Cabin B. When he entered the room where he thought his wife was sleeping, he was surprised to find out that it was actually Polly Cutler, so he hid the knife and that's how she found out he was still alive.
