Who are they supposed to be, why do they just show up all of the sudden. Who are they?

The shredded wheat company has a long history in the Niagara area. Seems like there was a large plant there for a long time. Nabisco bought out shredded wheat, but still makes some of it there.
Having the out of town couple meet with a company exec makes sense because that gives them the excuse to be going out on the boat.
