does anyone else think.....

Does anyone else think, the lover, Patrick guy is really HOT. I was watching it with a friend and strated drewling while watching him talking on the phone, can't imagine why he would not make it having such great looks, whatever happened to him???????. That's really sad.

I recall reading a book about forgotten actors in which Richard Allan (Patrick) complained about how his career was very badly handled by his advisors.

Richard Allan was also gay for all you girls out there.

Why do guys think that women care about an actor or singer being gay or even bi?! We don't! It certainly doesn't change how they look and act! You're right: He IS hot, sexy, handsome~definite eyecandy. I started noticing him when I was in my teens in the Sixties, and I still enjoy his moments on the screen.

I suppose that good looks, a great voice, and an ability to deliver lines doesn't always make a star. I see so many people fail although they seem to have everything it should take to be successful. Yet, people whose looks leave much to be desired and whose voices are downright unpleasant become stars. It truly is a strange world.

I have to say that we have more YUCK-looking actors today than I have seen in more than 50 years of movie-watching. Honestly, some look so awful that I cannot even bear to watch some movies, and I LOVE movies! *SIGH*

Anyway... I join you in your admiration of this obscure and practically forgotten actor. Perhaps this thread might cause some to take another look at him.

I couldn't agree more, cynsemele. Today's "actors" are nothing but scowling, unshaven bums whose egos are greater than their "talent".
Did you notice than none of the acting Oscars for 2007 went to Americans? Seems that today's "stars" are more interested in partying and getting in trouble with the law than with developing any acting moxie.

reply

Well I certainly care in terms of attraction. I may still like them as actors or as a person but gay guys are a turn off for me. I imagine women are a turn off for them too, so it evens out, lol.

Look up Richard Allen and find his bio. He worked in various fields and one
of them was massage. Doesn't that tell you rather boldly just what his orientation
was.

Being a "fruit" poses limitations on careers, so to speak. He was openly gay and later served in the military and worked as a masseur. Great looks are not enough in Hollywood or in lots of locations/endeavors. Anyway, he made his mark in several areas.
