There is an episode of Hill Street Blues where a young boy is hiding because he's afraid that he killed his brother who was only faking being shot. Upon reading the description of this movie I it reminded me of that episode and I was wondering if maybe that particular episode of Hill Street Blues was based on this movie.
If you have no patience with "ordinary" images and scenes, waiting for something more dramatic to happen, you will be disappointed in this movie.
But if you enjoy black & white, non-glitzy movies that evoke an earlier time and that lovingly depict images of real life, showing people in all their unglamorous reality (warts and all!), you will surely find this to be a little gem.
I enjoyed it enormously!
Human beings were invented by water as a device for transporting itself from one place to another.
Well I finally got around to watching it and I must say that I am a little disappointed. It's not that the movie is boring but it didn't exactly sweep me off my feet either. I was entertained throughout though.
