Does anyone remember the title of a 1950's scifi movie that revolved around an apparatus designed to pick up radio transmission from outer space? At the end it was destroyed by a person who refused to accept that people could exist on another planet, just as a message was arriving that seemed to echo a biblical passage.
How about a movie (could be newer than 50s) that started off where there was a kid and everyone had these strange bites on their necks and started becoming weird and the whole town was screwy, it was either this movie, one like it, or a twilight zone ep, but i cant figure out for the life of me what it was. but the people got bites.
That would be the original "Invaders from Mars" from 1953 which was redone by Tobe Hooper in 1986. Saw that one on Nightmare Theater when I was about 9 years old, and it still creeps me out! The look on that kid's face when his "possessed" Dad slaps the stuffing out of him, unbelievable.
"If I gave you a dollar, and you're father gave you a dollar, how many dollars would you have?" "One dollar" "I guess you don't know your math." "I guess you don't know my father!"
I don't usually participate in these chat things, but you are referring to one of my favorite cold war films, "The Next Voice You Hear" (1950). Could it be God?????
Does anyone remember an early 50's sci-fi film where the aliens replaced or invaded the brains of earth guys, leaving a line of rivets or dots across their foreheads? They wore hats to hide the dots once they were "changed". I know I saw this movie when I was little, but can't find anyone else who remembers it.
