Man,this flic stands proud;
visually enjoyable,fine acting(Carlson),music and ambience.
B\W works fine and is satisfying.

Yeah it's awesome! Made some great points about society and the cliches in other sci-fi/alien films

This is where this flic is more advanced as compared to other B sci-fis in its analysis(read Carlson):the Martians aren't really threatening the locals(some yokels),they jus'want a little time to repair their ET vehicle and be on their merry way galaxy "hopping" as they were prior to their crash(!).
Carlson is a strong lead and most of the pic centers on his cognizance + wisdom.
yes that's what I think too and that's why I like it so much! Other sci-fi flicks are good but this one was much more original in its core approach. and I like Carlson a lot, he's very good in the drama 'All I Desire' though I prefer his character here.

The only classic science fiction film that I love more than this one is Day the Earth Stood Still. Both also had benevolent aliens in them.
shareFrankly, I was expecting something just a "little" better. But nevertheless, I can't say I was disappointed. It's a pretty good movie.
