creepy/interesting imagery?

Did anyone else think some of the shots in the film were slightly ahead of their time?

Ya know in the scene where the aliens were standing, in human form, at the doorway...
It was one of the creepiest, and ominous things i've seen.

I was impressed.

I thought those were some beautiful shots.

Yes, this one really struck me too. Reminded me of Hitchcock or some film noirs.

Lots of other good ones, too.

Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle "Dixie"?

The shots were certainly composed differently for 3-D. It gives it a unique look, even in 2-D. To really experience the 3-D at its best, one has to see it projected in clear, polaroid 3-D, as it was in the 1950s. The red/blue anaglyph print that is making the rounds just doesn't cut it.

Yes, definately. I think this movie features some of the first 'alien vision perspective' shots and a few of the distraction/ shock type sequences, like creatures suddenly appearing from the side of a frame whilst the audiences attention's diverted. They still use those same methods today. I thought it was way ahead of it's time, very creative & surprised me.
