shareYou know it can get quite cold in the desert. Desert only means it gets little rain. Antarctica is a desert. But even deserts in the U.S. get cold in the winter and at night.
It was clearly cold in the desert during most of the shoot. They were driving the convertible around with the top up in the evening and even the linesmen were long sleeves shirts in the daytime.
It can get into the upper 30s in many parts of the desert in the winter. In the mountains, it can get into the teens or lower.
Bad films are a crime against humanity.
The narration at the beginning of the movie says it takes place in early spring. In early spring in Arizona, the MAXIMUM temperature during the day is usually around 70.
Soooo... Ya like stuff?
This was set in the Mojave Desert of southern California. The elevation of much of this desert is more than 3,000 feet, and there is little effect from the temperate marine-influenced climate on the other side of the high San Bernardino, San Gabriel, and Tehachapi mountain ranges to the south and west. It is common for the temperature to be in the forties or lower during winter days, and below freezing at night. Snow is not unusual.
