I don't understand the 7/10 rating

A bit high I think.

reply

Why? I haven't seen this. Tell me.

reply

Low budget and not well acted I thought. Wayne was miscast also.

reply

I haven't seen this either. Probably the most obscure, low-budget JW film I've seen is the movie Pittsburgh (1942). Co-stars Randolph Scott and Marlene Dietrich. A funny, silly Republic Picture. That these great stars were in it is what makes it fun.

reply

It's a great movie.

reply

I've noticed that a lot of John Wayne's lesser movies have a 7/10 rating. Or thereabouts. It's his following I expect. I have to admit that I do tend to look more kindly on my favourite actors' lesser movies.

reply

It’s still a good movie. The low budget only showed in the crash landing scene, and the acting was good.
