Is suppose to be crazy right. I mean she won't sleep with her husband till he beats up the brother over a dowry she doesn't even care about. I mean I know she's Irish and all but still that seems like pretty nuts behavior

Principal of the thing. It belongs to her. She wants to see Sean stand up to her brother as well.

Yes, it is somewhat contrived but it is the principle of her being able to do what she wishes with her own dowry and not having her brother decide what will occur. It's Ireland almost 100 years ago and she was only interested in Sean upholding her rights. I loved the line about her going home to get dinner ready.🐭
