Hi,

Obviously the creature from the black lagoon must have been almost obsessed with"Bend of the River"! In the first creature-movie he fell for Julie Adams who, of course, is older sister Laura Baile in "Bend of the River". On top of that, part of their romance was accompanied by music from "Bend of the River"! In the second creature-movie the creature went on to romance Lori Nelson - who, of course, was little sister Margie Baile in "Bend of the River". I imagine he was particularly touched by James Stewart calling her "Funny Face" throughout the film :-)

No - that's "The Far Country". No wonder Anthony Mann at times felt he and James Stewart were repeating themselves :-)

It's never surprised me that the black lagoon man/fish liked Julie. She was a natural male magnet. If she hadn't been all covered up in the RIVER movie, every guy watching it would have not cared about the plot, anticipating seeing more of Julie's fabulous curves. I remember seeing her on an episode of a TV comedy when she was approaching 60, looking far better than many much younger women.
