Alan and Hope age difference?

I recall as a child when they hooked up on that island. Alan had to be at least 15 years older than Hope. Although I was just a kid I kinda like the good girl/ bad guy pairing. It’s too bad Hope never made a cameo when a grown- up Alan-Michael returned. She sounded like a snooty, distant mom from the way he described her. I think she also developed a drinking problem before leaving the show due to her heartbreak over Alan’s treatment of her I believe. I didn’t know Robin Mattteson( AMC &GH fame) once portrayed Hope in the early 70’s. I believe another actress portrayed her during her romance with Alan.

I never knew that Mattson played Hope. She must have played her as a teen because in the early 70s, Mattson would have still been a teenager. But not surprised that they made Hope so much younger than Alan since Alan-Michael was his youngest child, it kind of makes sense that the mother would be the youngest of all of Alan's respective significant others. I don't know if Alan ever had any kids after Alan-Michael.

It seemed they aged Hope pretty fast, but as far as Alan's youngest love interests go, it would either be Annie or Beth. He had another child much later on in the series named Peyton, with Beth.
