If you liked them in this, seek out "Miracle In The Rain", a bittersweet romance in which Jane plays a shy, sheltered girl who meets friendly, lonely soldier Van, in town for a short leave. Terrific little movie - one of my very favorites.

shareMIRACLE IN THE RAIN is a much better movie than this rather mediocre film. Jane Wyman is always great but Van Johnson is pretty bland in this one although he is considerably better in MIRACLE. I think Jane and Van had much better chemistry in MIRACLE, probably because Van had no competition from other men!
shareI think the problem with this film is that even though Jane and Van are supposed to have the chemistry, and to a certain extent they do, Jane's chemistry with Howard Keel far overshadows it. I think it's so much so that the viewer is rooting for Mike the pilot right from the moment that the two meet.
