Christian Nyby dissed the remake

I read that Nyby said, "If you want blood, go to the slaughterhouse. All in all, it's a terrific commercial for J&B Scotch."

I had read he denounced Carpenter's version, but if that's what he said, I think it's funny.

When I drink J&B I like to think I'm getting "RJ MacReady drunk."

It's a good line but it upset Carpenter. Luckily the remake is more appreciated now.

Yes! Even if the Thing 51 is one of the most influential sci fi horror ever made, to be fair, Carpenter made a film based on the story by Campbell Jr in 1938? The only one so far that make it justice!
