I know people think claiming originals or older movies are better somehow makes them smarter movie fans but it doesn't this was a boring movie the 82 remake is better in any every way, the 2011 one was great too but his was boring as hell.

John Carpenter's 1982 The Thing is not a remake of The Thing From Another World.
The Thing From Another World is inspired by the 1938 novel Who Goes There? It doesn't follow the exact plot, but is heavily inspired by the story.
John Carpenter's "version" follows the original story much more closely, while of course taking many liberties of its own.
Comparing the two movies, or referring to John Carpenter's film as a "remake" of this one is just ridiculous.
