Did Vivian Leigh Have An Affair With Marlon Brando?

It was alleged they had an affair during the making if this film ir after.

I think Leigh herself mentioned it somewhere, Brando was with a lot of women

Vivian Leigh was an ill woman. Not just physically. She was bipolar before any medications were invented to help, acted out sexually and inappropriately when she was on a tear. Though this was later in her life. But Marlon Brando and she may have indeed had an affair as no living being could resist him. However, I read she disliked him intensely and wanted nothing to do with him outside of the movie set. Some of the cast were upset she had been chosen to play Blanche, and there was tension on the set for some time, so she kept to herself.

I've read three Leigh biographies, none comes up with any evidence or even hinting an affair. Also, Olivier was in Hollywood, simultaneously shooting "Carrie", Leigh's daughter Suzanne (being in her teens then) stayed with them too. From those accounts, Brando and Leigh got along well, respecting each other for who they were. Brando wrote nicely and quite correctly about her in his biographie, while Leigh said in an interview, that Brando was the only person she ever met who could do and authentic Olivier impression - so that might say quite something. The one who didn't get along with her was Malden, and from his quotes, it's evident it never occured to him that she was ill, he just saw her as pompous Scarlett O'Hara.

She certainly had affairs.

They flirted a lot and he wrote that he was willing. But Olivier was always on set and he respected him too much to take advantage of Leigh.

The attraction we see on screen is real.
