Love Howard Keel

I love Howard Keel. He was the best. His big voice in "Only Make Believe" still makes me cry, every time. And that duet with Katherine Grayson; boy I wish I could be in a duet like that. Howard in "Kiss Me Kate" was just awesome, especially that song about his little black book -- Howard with his leering eyebrows. I loved all his music, and never watched him on Dallas because he didn't sing. I was happy he got that work, but he could have been a huge singing star to the end of his life. Who says musicals are dead? Perhaps some lamebrain nitwits who only love car chase movies with martial arts themes, or monster sci-fi films. Let's hear it for the wonderful musicals!! P.S. I love both Show Boat movies, 1936 and 1951. They are so nice and special, each with their own unique nuances and my favorite actors and actresses. P.P.S. My comments below always go with my posts. They are from the movie "Peter Pan 2003", which is also one of my faves.

I agree about musicals. They should bring them back, but I'm afraid it wouldn't appeal to the masses. At least we can watch these that we love, Show Boat, Kiss Me Kate, An American in Paris (love the movies with great dance numbers, too!), Oklahoma, Carousel, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Gypsy, Summer Stock and The Bandwagon just to name a few.
