I wonder if the name "Kramden" was chosen because it suggested that Ralph and Alice were "crammed in" to that tiny apartment. I also wonder whether "Norton" was chosen because it suggested "nuttin'/nothing." Opinions?

I believe that Kramden is a common Irish name, and Gleason was Irish.
