Gregory Peck's Bomber Jacket
Does anyone have any idea what the original bomber jacket that Savage wears in the movie would be worth?
or anyone one know how i could find out its value?

Well if the jacket is still around perhaps Mr Peck got to keep it as part of his contact for working in the film. Now if this were the case it would really be a great collectors item. I have a long interest as do many in the Eighth Air Force and in the A-2 Nose art painted on the aircraft of that era and on the jackets worn by crews of the Eighth in England during the war. You can buy a model of the famed " Tobey Mug" used in the film , just do a search on the net and you'll find it. I bought one years ago and its really gone up in price now. Looks great sitting above my fire place and I look at it each day as I am heading out to work. A great reminder of just how hard it was for this generation of Americans to win a war and ensure the freedoms we have today. I am sure that the film studio props dept had a large colleciton of WW II uniforms and gear from all their war films and stuff they bought from the military during and after the war. Today a real WW II A-2 is worth thousands..seen some on ebay worth that and in many museums in the UK and here in the States. They are great to look at and each one has it own story of orgin ! Have never read anything in all my readings on the Eighth and this film were it talks about the A-2 Mr Peck wore in the film. Without question its my favorite film of all time and I find something new in it each time I see it. Long time member of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society and have meet the realatives of Col Frank Armstrong 306th BG (H) who character the Gen Savagge role is somewhat based. There is a wonderful book written about the making of the film and the 1960's television series.....worth having in your collection if you like this great film.... The 12 O'Clock High Log Book by Allan Duffin & Paul Matheis..see amazon link below...

Would ne neat to know what became of his actual jacket and I know they were looking for the real actual mug used in the film and disappeared during the production back in 1948....... great & powerful film !
