Major Stovall
Each time I watch this film I always think that while Savage had a view of what had to be done I'd think he would've had a tougher job to execute his vision without an intuitive officer like Stovall. Stovall appeared to me as if he completley understood both his commanding officers' position during times of tremendous stress. I'm not sure if Stovall could've handled Savage's great responsibilities but he was perfect in the position he held.
