I Could Not Stand Robert Young's Character!

I'm finding it difficult to believe that Irene would fall for Bosinney. Not just because she had Errol Flynn at home (he did do a great job of playing an overbearing jerk.) But what was the attraction with Robert Young? He was engaged to June then immediately starts flirting with Irene. It troubles him not one bit that Irene is a married woman. It troubles him not one bit that he is breaking June's heart. He just says several times, Oh she's young, she'll get over it.

Are we supposed to be charmed by the fact that he spent his last dollars on lollipops for children and can't afford to buy tea for his fiancee, who he has asked to meet him at the park? Are we supposed to be charmed by how he gets all up on Greer Garson at his own engagement party, with no concern for how it looks for her, if not for him?

I just couldn't stand him. At least she ended up with Walter Pidgeon at the end, who was the only decent man in the movie.

I agree. The guy was a total weasel. I felt nothing when he got run over by the wagon.
