The story lines of the two movies are vastly different, and the latter (WOTRW) being more of a love story than the former (RTWW).
There is a giant squid in both of them, but the encounters with the squid are VERY different. One is in the near middle of the film (WOTRW), and the other is at the very end (RTWW).
Also, they both deal with the sea trade from long ago, but one is set on the Atlantic Ocean (RTWW), and the other (WOTRW) on the South Seas.
