Was David’s finacee a lover with any of his murderers at some point?

Yes, in the beginning when Brandon was talking to Janet about her dating. He said:
"After me came Kenneth and now David"

In real life though, Leopold and Loeb were gay, and they were partners.

She had dated Brandon in the past, though it's not made clear just how serious the relationship was.
