Did Talbot change on the airplane?

I've never flown across the ocean so I'm not sure how long it takes but I imagine it takes a while. Assuming night fell somewhere over the Atlantic, did he change on the plane and tear the passengers up?

No. He made sure to take a morning flight to beat the full moon

In 1948 it would have taken ten to twelve hours to fly across the Atlantic.
