NO Black People In New York City?

One message movie message at a time I guess. I've seen this several times and NOT ONCE, even in crowd scenes noticed ONE black or brown face.

As a life long New Yorker whose parents and grandparents were raised here I can tell you that before the 1950's or so, the population of blacks in nyc was very small and it was limited to Harlem and a few other areas. It was entirely possible to go years without meeting or even seeing an African-American. Even for me, who grew up here in the late 50's and early 60's if not for forced bussing in schools my own experience with blacks would have been extremely limited.

I am watching this film right now, and it's funny because when the people traffic scene came on i immediately thought the same thing. "There's no black people in this shot, none! How's that possible?" But I went on to watch. I was surprised tho, at 14:35 when Mr. Green is walmkng on the bridge you can see a black babysitter sitting down reading a newspaper alongside the baby in the crib.
