Wow- I don't think I've ever seen such a horrible performance. What a horrible actor- zero charisma or screen presence IMO. I think Robert Ryan would have been amazing in this role.

Ditto. I get that he was supposed to be cold and crazy, but to attract those women he also needed to be compelling and sensual, which he wasn't.
Yeah, Robert Ryan would have been great. Or Ray Milland.
