Did Janis Carter ever play a nice person? Every time I've seen her in a movie, she is at least unpleasant and sometimes villainous. For example, in "My Forbidden Past" she plays a social-climber eager to commit adultery and in "I Married A Communist"( ("The Woman On Pier 13") she played a Commie agent helping to ensnare Robert Ryan in anti-American activities.

Janis Carter was pretty good-looking and quite sexy. She was also a strong screen presence. If she had been given different kinds of roles, she might have become a big star.

This was the first movie I saw her in, and got so impressed by her beauty and great, sexy performance. Her gorgeous face kind of reminded me of a young Peggy Lee.

Janis Carter was 7 years older than Peggy Lee but I see what you mean. If you spot a young Peggy Lee clip sometime there is a distinct similarity.

Yes she was quite the femme fatale beauty in this film. Unfortunately this movie being paired with One Girl's Confession caused her to be overshadowed by the screen presence of Cleo Moore.

All Janis Carter wanted to do through most of this movie was keep getting the cop to do her. Good god, she was hot!
