Dr Blair - 2 things

Firstly, when Dr Blair found the stolen jewels in the bombed house, he suddenly has a nervous breakdown and is confined to bed. Him being a psychoanalyst, I find this very implausible. He seemed a very stable character and with his qualifications, he unlikely to succumb to a complete mental breakdown, especially after uncovering something he half expected anyway.

Secondly, when explaining that his wife had had him forceably committed to an institution, he spits that it was for 'mental cases!'. Not the sort of language a Doctor would use, even in those days. And if we are to believe that he had a nervous breakdown, he was indeed a 'mental case!'.

Just a few observations.
