Costumes?
Are their any color images of the costumes used in the film? I loved the dresses that Belle and her sisters wore. I just have to see these in color.

shareIt's driving me crazy because I can't find it now, but a few months ago I saw a photo of one of the sisters' dresses on the internet. It was a very deep red color, if that helps.
I did accidentally kill her father when I went to pick her up for the first date. AWKWARD!
I'm not the only one, I see. I just think the dresses were amazing. Guess I could web search and hopefully find some pictures of this.
shareI was thinking, most of the non-magical costumes were based on Vermeer paintings. Belle's costume in the first scene, for instance, is straight out of Girl with a Pearl Earring. So perhaps the colors of the costumes were also inspired by Vermeer. He tended to use the primary colors (yellow, red, blue), along with green, white, and tawny brown.

The dress that Mila Parély (Félicie) wears as she comes down the stairs carrying the dog is navy blue and silver. The actress says this in the documentary "Screening at the Majestic". This is a 1995 documentary featuring interviews with cast and crew.
Also, remember Cocteau saying something in his diary of the film that the gown Belle is wearing in the scenes with the sheets is sky blue and silver. I could be wrong....I haven't ready the book in years.
