This film mentions mistreatment of Poles by the Czar of Russia. But did they commit anything as bad as the Katyn massacre where Soviet communists murdered thousands of Poles? www.katyn.org.au This movie came out in 1945 when the US government was chummy with Stalin because of the world war 2 alliance. It seems to me the anti Czarist references were done to appease the USSR and its supporters.

I saw part of the film a few weeks ago, I had no idea Chopin was active in anti Russian occupation in Poland during his time.
