This was supposed to be a black comedy where Gene Tierney played mother to Jerry Mathers. Her ironclad devotion to him resulted in the deaths of his little playmates as she wanted to be the only person in his life. So, it was curtains for Whitey, Gilbert, Eddie Haskel and Lumpy Rutherford.

Yes, she hacked them to pieces, but it was to be titled "Leave it to Cleaver".
