Watching it now on TCM (2/5/2016)
The technicolor is great! This is a very good print of the movie.

shareLove the southwest decor in Jacinto.
shareKeep an eye on those colors - it's subtle, but you can see as the movie progresses that GT's clothing is coordinated to fit the background decor in many scenes.
Thanks for pointing that out! Yes her quilted lounge outfit went well with the sofa.
shareHow about her red lipstick? She wore it in the swimming scene and when she got out of bed!
shareSo am I! I had a feeling that I wasn't the only one.
shareThey sure used a lot of the color turqois - wallpaper, paint, dress....
share~ I notice that too the turqois & the shades of lighter blue💙 throughout the background and dresses. The colors did look lovely.

This is one of the most visually beautiful movies ever -- the scenery, the interiors, the photography, the makeup, the art production and production design -- and TCM has CHOPPED OFF THE SIDES for television! Maddening!!!!!

Please put some dashes above your sig line so I won't think it's part of your dumb post.
I just finished watching it and it is magnificent film. One of the most visually beautiful films I've ever seen. No surprise the film won its only Oscar for cinematography.
The cast was superb, especially Gene Tierney as Ellen, who received a very well deserved Oscar nomination. She lost to Joan Crawford for Mildred Pierce.
Her costar Cornel Wilde was also nominated for an Oscar that year but for a different film, A Song to Remember. Haven't seen that yet. But he was also outstanding here.
If this film were made today, there is no doubt they would have tacked on a few unnecessary twists and turns, shaky cams and proper diversity. As it is, the ending was perfect. 10/10
