Considering all of the junk that gets converted to DVD, it is a real shame that this classic love story is still not released on DVD. If anyone knows where I can pick up a good VHS copy please let me know. I wish that TCM would show it more often.

I have the tape but I got rid of my video player years ago. I'm looking for the DVD. I saw this film in the early 80's, on TV and immediately got the "message". How did you get the DVD? I've looked everywhere.

I've been trying to find the DVD of this awesome movie, but all I've been able to locate is VHS! Is there anyone that can be contacted to find out? Derekrulz66?? I'd love a CD-R copy, but would it be playable in the U.S.?

shareLike most of the true classics...this has never been released on DVD. The ones they are selling on Amazon and ebay are VHS and sell anywhere from 20.00 to 100.00 because it no longer available new. Anyone who is selling this on DVD is making coppies from a VHS tape. The only way to get it released on DVD is to write to the company who owns the rights and ask them if they plan on ever releasing it on DVD.
shareYou can also make copies by capturing it from TCM on a DVR networked to a computer - for example, my ReplayTV saves in the same format as DVDs and is on my home network.

Hey. I'm new here and this is my first day. I have a VERY old VHS copy made off cable about 15 years ago. My mother, sister and I watched this every time it came on. I'd LOVE a DVD copy.

YES I STILL HAVE THIS MOVIE ON DVD-R for essentially no cost (I generally ask $5 S&H incl disc etc, less for domestic shipping of course but if you can't afford even that we can work something out!). I remain just happy to share this inexplicably unavailable-on-DVD movie with fellow fans.
Posting Update: PLEASE NOTE I RECEIVE MANY MANY requests for this title and try my best to get them out within 6 weeks to everyone. Query other users for my earnestness if desired. With the upcoming holidays (and my travel plans) delivery may be delayed an additional 2 weeks +. Sorry for the inconvenience, guys.
It's been over 4 months and I did not receive a DVD-R from drakepub. I just wrote requested my $5 be reimbursed. I am no longer interested in the DVD-R, just want the money back, sick of being screwed over by people with DVD-Rs of unreleased films.
BTW, the print TCM has shown is not a pristine print by any means (VHS source). I would hope when it does get an official DVD release it will hopefully be cleaned and restored extensively.
