Scoring -- I guess times/styles have changed

I was surprised to see that this film had an Oscar nomination for "Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture". I actually thought that the movie was too highly scored. There was full orchestrated music through out. I found it a distraction. I guess to each his own.

Well, just for the record. I just watched it and found it NOT to be completely orchestrated throughout. Sure it had lovely orchestrations throughout, how many movies from this period have you ever seen? I knew this about movies years and years ago, it has never bothered me. In fact, it's one of the things that really ADDS to the deep romanticism of these great old treasures.

ON THE OTHER HAND, don't you think SO MANY movies today OVERUSE sound effects to a RIDICULOUS pitch so as to remove all reality from them??>

I never was never bothered by the scoring in this film. In fact, I think it adds to it immensely. I wish the soundtrack of this would be released. I've been looking for it for years.
