Not well enough known

Not enough young people know about this movie. My family loves to watch this movie at Christmas.

I'm 18 and strange enough, I happened to see this movie not that long ago. I love the part where Felix (the Hungarian) kept mispronouncing "catastrophe." That was so funny. Being part Hungarian myself, I saw the character Felix somewhat of a coincidence for me.

I watch it every year. My favorite Christmas movie.

I agree that it isn't well known enough. It's not quite as good as It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street, but it is a delightful Christmas picture and one which I feel deserves greater recognition. Barbara Stanwyck, Sidney Greenstreet, and S.Z. Sakall all gave truly fine performances. I saw it for the first time last year and it was a pleasure to get to see it at a local theater earlier tonight. The film really is a good way to kick off the Christmas season.

It beats White Christmas by a mile!

reply

It's not as popular as It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street but it deserves equal acclaim. I saw it a few years ago and have seen it every Christmas since.

reply

I agree! I watch it several times at Christmas and occasionally during the year.
