Annoying
I enjoy a classic film as much as anyone, but "Christmas in Connecticut" is just screechy, dumb, and annoying.

shareAgreed. The only redeeming feature was that Stanwick was easy to look at. Couldn't wait for it to be over.
shareI love it... it's one of my favorite Christmas movies.

It certainly turned out to be better than the silly, cheesy, unbearably wholesome beginning promised - it actually turned out to be a rather tolerable little farce, predictable and gooey in the end as it was. A good portion of the things characters say, are pretty funny and Stanwyck´s charm and excellent comic timing make up for a lot of the overly sweet & homely business. While nowhere near the quality of The Lady Eve or Ball Of Fire, it´s quite watchable, ultimately. 6-6,5/10. Woulda been much better though if it wasn´t for that irritating Morgan guy.

Agree that it was annoying. It strained credulity at every turn, without providing the merriment that would make you want to excuse the ridiculousness. And except for kindly Uncle Felix, every character is duplicitously self-interested, willing to tell giant lies just to get a career, more subscribers, or a steak.
shareI don't know about all those adjectives ... but I found it BORING.
I'm fine with the conceit & I think it actually starts well. But, then, it drags and drags. We know where this all is going. Why was it so long?
The actress' other classic holiday film, "Remember the Night" was much better in that fashion. And, the characters and situations here aren't so grand or anything that I really really wanted more of them (the uptight architect is particularly annoying).
There were some things that annoyed me too, but on the whole I quite enjoyed it.
