Dennis Morgan
God was this man a looker! I fell in love with him right away.
shareOh, he was gorgeous! Hard to believe he was 37 in this movie, he was so baby-faced.
I love when he sings "I'm Wishin' That I May"...I'd be dropping ornaments too! Men just don't sing like that in romantic comedies anymore.
"Wake up John Doe. You're the hope of the world."

I fell in love with Dennis Morgan the first time I saw this movie. He and Barbara Stanwyck had such wonderful chemistry. I wish the this movie would get more airtime!
shareWhen I was a child and watching this movie on TV, my mother told me Dennis Morgan had died as a young man. I was so heartbroken. Then many years later (1994) I heard that he had just died. I was so surprised and I always wondered why my mother had told me such a thing! In my younger days, we didn't have an internet to check.
Back to Dennis and Barbara, they had instant chemistry onscreen. The first time they meet, you just KNOW they've clicked. And his voice! How sweet! Love the guy. Love the girl. Love his singing. Love the cast. Love the movie.
This has to be one of the best movies of all time, i cant stop watching it, Dennis Morgan is a hero and ive always loved Barbara Stanwyck... i thought they had amazing chemistry also, yet there is a thread on this board stating they didnt, i find that shocking i thought it was crazy how much chemistry they had... i love love love love this movie, everyone needs to see it, and when Jefferson sings ( my heart breaks ,) great movie !!
shareToday, a "leading" man like Morgan, is like something someone rubs off the bottom of their shoes.
To understand is the opposite of existing.
Your mom probably got him mixed up with someone else, it happened all the time at my house: parents and grandparents would watch a movie or TV show and do this thing my sisters and I called "Who's Dead?". "He's dead." my dad would say when someone appeared on the screen. "She died young." somebody else would remark about an actress. "No, she's not" Grandma would say, "she married so-and-so" and they bought half of Los Angeles." They would argue through the whole thing, it's amazing anyone knew what was going on. Like you said, there was no way to check.
But I have to agree, oy vey! he's hot! LOL Charisma, too, which so few actors have today.
franz sweetie, You need to get and find a girl friend, or a job. It's not good for you to just sit around on imdb all day and night. I hate the expression "get a life", but it really does see apropos in your case.
I guess it's like looking at clouds. You see one thing and I see another. Peace.

I think because he fits the mold of dreamy when Stanwyck eyes him lustfully, her heart just taken with him, it isn't far-fetched.
shareMorgan was a damned good, charismatic actor, very natural and likable in all his roles. Unfortunately he's often underrated today.
