Stanwyck's other Christmas movie:Remember the Night

If you like Christmas In Connecticut and like Barbara Stanwyck, make every effort to see Remember the Night, a lesser-known Christmas movie she made. It's truly magical. It's probably hard to get but worth the effort.

Thanks for the suggestion to look out for it. I will do just that. I think I probably have seen it but then I've seen Xmas in Connecticut before too!

I prefer that one. The cast in this one is very good, but darn, it takes soooo long to get to the obvious conclusion. "Remember the Night" was shorter & sweeter.

I absolutely love "Remember the Night". I have it on DVD, and it is just a gem of a film.

This movie has a lot of great one-liners and more comedy, but there were things that annoyed me too here like the way the characters all seemed selfish and rather duplicitous. Remember the Night is overall the better movie I feel with a better storyline, but this has more laughs.

Hey! Thanks for this post. I really loved Stanwyk in Christmas In Connecticut but was not a fan of the movie. I feel like it just never came together and I was mostly irritated by a couple of the characters. Anyway, I managed to find Remember The Night and wow! It was really really great. I will be adding this to my yearly Christmas movie list. Thanks again!

Yes, "Remember the Night" is an incomparably better film than "Connecticut",
and it's humor is much less forced. "Connecticut" is pleasant, but clumsy,
with too many characters and a lot of sitcom-like setups. But I enjoy
it and watch both movies every holiday season.

I enjoy CiC but I also prefer RtN if just because Fred McMurray has such great chemistry with Stanwyck.

That, and the fact that "Night" is leaner, far more moving, and is a about 20
minutes shorter.

I don't feel Stanwyck had much chemistry with Dennis Morgan, delightful though
he is in the film.

Yes, but the screwball comedy isn't particularly inspired.
