Scarlet Street + The Woman In The Window

I always get this movie mixed up with Scarlet Street because Robinson.Bennett and Duyea play similar roles in that film except Bennett & Duyea are working together as pimp & prostitute to con innocent Robinson out of money because they think he's a wealthy portrait painter.The movie is also by Fritz Lang and there is a very different ending in that movie.If you get a get a chance watch Scarlet Street.

Also both movies have the same police Inspector - Thomas E Jackson. I would prefer 'The Woman in the Window' as 'Scarlet Street' is MUCH darker and has no characters that you can identify with (apart from the Inspector) , they are all bad.

I'm watching TWITW tonight. Scarlett Street is coming in the very near future. One of the guys at the movie place where I rent from can't say enough good things about Scarlet Street.

I didn't like "Scarlet Street" nearly as much as "The Woman in the Window." Not as tight or as well-written and well-paced. Kind of a C+ movie compared to an A for TWITW, IMHO.

(The first look at Chris' "painting" was kind of funny though, plus the unexpected coincidental tie-in of his name to the famous pop singer of the '80s.)

I love this movie!

I have given "Scarlet Street" a couple of chances and I've never really been able to get into it.
