The Movie

No serious discussion of the movie here? (potential SPOILERS following)

I just saw this for the first time the other day. I was interested in seeing it because of The Aviator. I was expecting it to be really bad, but I was surprised it was pretty good. Sure, there were some clumsy and awkward moments, but it held my interest pretty well. I think I saw this movie when I was a kid on Sunday morning or something, it all seemed familiar to me. I was never a huge fan of Westerns but enough classic elements are here to keep it enjoyable.

I thought the actor who played Doc Holliday did a memorable job. I liked the little twist at the end since we all know Pat Garret killed Billy the Kid. I thought the scenes that were supposed to suggest the sexual intimacy were pretty funny.

How old was Jane Russell when she made this, she looks almost like a kid? A kid with large breasts, yes, but she looked pretty young. The goofy big smile she gives at the end when she realizes she can go with Billy was humorous.

Jane Russell was 19 years old at the time "The Outlaw" was made. The censors wouldn't allow the movie to be released until two years later, she was 21 by then, and her bust size had grown from the 36 inches it is in this movie to 38 inches. But in the time when the movie was filmed, she was only 19 years old.
