Great Score...otherwise, awful...

I honestly thought the score was the best thing about this film...

at almost two hours in length, this film is dull, overproduced and all that one will be able to remember after watching it is Russell's boobs.

There's a few things that are absolute nonsense. The bit where Billy the Kid's ears get shot and he doesn't flinch, is ridiculous. The fact that he and the man who shot at him hug a few seconds later is probably even more...

I'm not even going to mention sexism. I don't have a problem with the pace, because one of my favourite directors is Sergio Leone...and even he was a bit sexist. But the old west doesn't strike me as a setting for sexual equality.

What I do have a problem with is Jane Russell being in the film a lot, and always being somewhere behind the camera. Apart from her boobs, she clearly has no role in this film...It's all about Garrett, Holliday and Billy (which by the way is all historical bollocks).

Um... The score was horrible. And it was horribly inappropriate. I don't know what movie you were listening to. The stupidly cheeky muted trumpet "waaa waaaa waaaaaaaaa" where it appeared was cringe-inducing. The lighthearted and the dark orchestral sounds were amateurishly misplaced throughout the story, and it wasn't quality work to begin with.

The instrument has yet to be invented that can measure my indifference to that remark.

LOL! Have to agree. The OP surely can't have been serious. Fingernails rasped across a blackboard surely would have been more melodic and apt for many of the scenes, than the stuff that was dished up and hammered my ears unmercifully.

Which is what I came here to say.

Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.

I agree, the score was very distracting. I guess if you made a list of all the bad things about this movie the score might be the least worst, but it was still awful.

I did get emotional when the Doc character got shot, though.

Don't steal; the government hates competition.
