Opening voice over

We just watched this film in a class I am taking. The instructor didn't know who did the voice over at the beginning, so we were wondering if it was actually Maya Deren or not.
any help would be appreciated

Yes, it's Maya. From a poetry reading sometime in the fifties.

The voice-over was added as an introduction to the video/DVD compilation. The original prints do not contain this voice-over, and, yes, it is Maya’s voice. Peace.
