Turn Off the Sound

Try watching this film with the sound turned off. The soundtrack was only added to the film a few years after it had been shot and edited. It was added by Deren, but it expresses romantic and professional interests that she had developed only after this film was made. I love Meshes on all levels, but I've always found the soundtrack jarring and disorienting in relation to the beautiful, haunting visuals.
