Hitchcock's Sound Script
Few people know that Hitchcock made a sound script for his entire films. Often it can be routine sounds but there are dozens of carefully orchestrated sound elements in The Saboteur that enhance the film. The Radio City Music Hall shoot out is a masterful use of sound and image. Of course the crowning achievement is the music-less finale on the Statue of Liberty with the spooky 'high up' sounds of the wind, distant tug boat horns etc. Just the sounds give me vertigo!
