And there's a whole generation who completely missed this.
No. Don't remake these films for them. I'm getting tired of remakes being done for "The Next Generation". If the original is so good, that even the thought of a remake seems like a good idea... Then Just Watch The Original. Just Buy the DVD and watch it.
I recently saw a NEW film that used the "F" word more times than I could count, and most of the time, it was only because people had filthy mouths. It had NOTHING to do with the scene. (There were a few scenes where it was appropriate and it was quite funny.)
These remade films, with bad language... and sometimes quite obvious trashy scenes are appalling. Innuendo works best.
Remaking films should only be about improving the films for Color, or special effects, or actually adding more story to the plot. Unfortunately, most don't focus on these areas. And half the reviewers just say that it "sucks", and people should just watch the original version anyway...
In addition, as pointed out already, being attracted or suggestive to "Children", even in the humorous context of a film like this, is a huge "No No" today. It won't do well with audiences.
I'm already seeing a large percentage of "The Next Generation" IMDb users complaining about issues with older films and television shows... that were done before they were born... concerning topics of Racism, and stuff like that. Times were different then, and they don't get it. When they see them, it's like their world has ended. But to make those films today. Riots would break out.
NOT A GOOD IDEA.
And, that is if you could even find someone as talented, professional, and sweet as Ginger to do the role properly.
I doubt it.
