Needs to be remade

I've always been a fan of world war 1 movies. Even though world war 2 pretty much eclipsed world war 1, I feel that the sacrifices made by the doughboys, tommies and other soldiers during the Great War should still be remembered and celebrated. Film making has obviously come a long way since 1941 and while films like Sargent York and the fighting 69th were great when they were released they are pretty dated by today's standards. In my opinion much of the first part of sergeant York is slow and the film really isn't all that interesting until he goes into combat. There have been a number of technological advances in filmmaking which would make stories like these more entertaining to a modern audience.

I wouldn't want it remade, because anything remade would just be compared to the original.

However, I agree that there should be more movies about the First World War made with the modern advances in filmmaking; that would be entertaining.
