Who's Slim Gavin (Gabbert?)

When they get to the house, and the doctor leads them to another room, Mantan says "That's not doctor, that's Slim Ga----." I can't figure out what he's sayig, and the names I tried don't come up in a search. It must be someone the audience would be expected to know.

Pretty sure it's "Slimgali" -- a corruption of Svengali.

I'm sure that he was referring to the singer/musician, Slim Gaillard who the jazz fans of the audience would have been familiar with at that time. Slim Gaillard made his film debut the same year as this was made, in 'Hellzapoppin.'
