Certainly, he was worthy...one of the best child-actor performances I have ever seen...

they gave a juvenile award to judy garland 2 years before...he certainly deserved one!

His facial expressions were great. I loved his performance. If the same performance were given in the 90's or later he may have gotten one.

And they didnt give a juvenile Oscar that year...so i never understood why he wasnt considered...He had bad luck with oscar...he should have been nominated for his performance as Octavian in Cleopatra (where he is far and away the best thing about that stupid movie) but the studio screwed up the nominations and listed everyone for Best Actor. He would eventually receive a unique honor however, the Acadamy's Photography Archives are named after him...

His eyes in this film are a wonder.
You see every emotion in them.
He was a remarkable actor all his life.

All through watching this I kept saying "how the hell was Roddy not even nominated"?
